We are going to start this post out with some tips about what to do about your winter wedding invitations. Your invitations should set the tone for your wedding and theme. If you’re having a casual wedding, send out something fun and, well – casual. Mini pinecones in rustic boxes with save the dates would be cute for a old fashioned, country theme. If you are having a formal affair, follow that tone and send out something more elegant. Heavy cardstock with a custom laser cut monogram or design will look great. Use colors such as mint green and chocolate brown to add a touch of elegance.
You really have no bad options when it comes to what colors to pick for your winter wedding. You can go the traditional route and use reds, greens, silvers and golds. Or you can do something more whimsical, like different shades of purple with metallic accents. The key is not to over do it. If you want to separate your wedding day from the holidays, you might want to stay away from the reds and greens as you traditionally see these colors associated Christmas.
For your flowers, use anything from calla lilies, red roses, and amaryllis to fuller, more robust flowers like hydrangeas. You can even use pinecones and artificial flowers like the woven ones pictures above.
Go beyond the typical candles and holy and add a little pizzazz with ice-carvings, or frosted vases. Try to bring the outdoors inside with fake snow, or snow tipped pinecones. Hang snow flakes and crystals from everywhere, including your centerpieces.
